Dear Friend, 

It is my privilege to welcome you to our website. I am the pastor of Great Crossing Baptist Church and I would like to encourage you to join us at Great Crossing for Worship at your earliest opportunity. I have been the pastor of this fine church for seven years. My family and I came here from Tolland, Connecticut in July of 2002. Since moving here our third and youngest daughter has graduated from college and gotten married and is out of the home. My wife, Jackie, and I enjoy our visits to Loudon TN and Marietta GA to visit our children and grandchildren and their visits to our home in Georgetown a couple of times a year to visit with us.

Our real passion besides our children and grandchildren is our relationship with the grand people of Great Crossing. This is a church which has stolen our hearts and we believe it may be the church which could be just right for you and your family. Great Crossing is well known in the Georgetown and Scott County area. It is the second oldest Baptist church in Kentucky, having been established before Kentucky became a state. Even with all of its tradition and history Great Crossing is on the move and we are blessed to be here at a very important time in the pilgrimage of this people when we have decided to grow and become the healthiest church we can possibly be with the help and aid of the Holy Spirit and with the potential for growth in our community.

We have many great things going on already in the church and we’re in the process of making plans for the future through a planning team that is actively setting out a vision for the future. We have not been static while involved in this process but have entered into change along the way that we are sure will contribute to the health and wellbeing of the church at the crossing as we cast the vision. One of these changes has been a careful move toward a team approach in planning and implementing ministry. We have on the ministry staff of Great Crossing two very dedicated ministers who are ready to serve God in their areas of responsibility and in any way He leads. One of these is our Minister of Music and Worship, Billy Day and the other is Kevin Buntain our Minister to Youth. We have a great Youth and Children’s program and it is our intention to add young families to the membership of Great Crossing and to make a positive difference in the lives of all of our members.

We believe that God is at work adding members to His church and we are praying that He will speak to you if you are looking for a church home and that He will lead you to join us here.
