Adults Serving at Great Crossing Baptist Church
The Adults of Great Crossing are active in all the ministry programs of the church. Each adult is encouraged to participate in at least one of the Teams organized to get the work of the church accomplished. Several of these teams are already functioning and others are to be organized soon. Those now functioning are: The Missions Team, The Worship Team, The Small Groups Team (Sunday School), and the Planning Team. Yet to be organized is the Membership Team.
In addition there are several areas where adults serve the programs and ministries of the church. Some of these are:
Seniors
JOY (Just Over Youth) Group-Third Thursday at 10:30 am. Planned trips announced in the worship service and through the bulletin. Special mission opportunities are also a part of JOY Group opportunities.
Visitation and Outreach
Church Wide Evangelistic and Outreach Visitation, Sunday School Visitation Inreach Program.
Bible Study Groups
Sunday Morning at 9:30 is our major opportunity for Bible Study. We also study the Bible together with our pastor leading on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. We have other Small Group Bible Studies as announced.
WMU
A “Women on Mission” group who meet monthly and participate together in various missions throughout the year. This group also leads the church in supporting the Annie Armstrong Easter offering for North American Missions and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.
Deacons
We welcome those who aspire to serve as deacons to join our church and become involved in this vital ministry-Working with the pastor in ministry to families, Overseeing the Spiritual welfare of the church, caring for persons in need, and other service opportunities.
The Business of the Church
Business meetings on Second Wednesday of each month; Committees: Finance, Personnel, Trustees, Lord’s Supper, Constitution, Long Range Planning, etc.
Teachers and Leaders
Many of our adults serve in the Preschool, Children’s and Youth Departments. We are fortunate to have adults who feel the calling to minister to and teach our children and youth.
